Photos from the Trip to Caraça

I'm finally getting around to posting pics from our trip to Caraça. Yay! Yesterday was my day off, but between taking Laura to the doctor and going shopping, the day was basically over.

Oh well, these first pics are from the train trip. We got up at 5:30 a.m. to get ready to leave, being that Laura was awake at 5:00 a.m., and it was freezing cold. The trip wasn't too long and we had a nice enough time on the train. I thought Laura was going to sleep the whole time since she'd woken up very early, but unfortunately, she decided she wanted to enjoy the trip and stayed awake for almost the whole ride.

Here she is waiting for the train to leave:

Riding in the back of the car:

This is one of the huge mines we passed. The entire mountain was mined! Pretty ugly if you ask me.

I was looking at pictures from our trip with Alina and when we came across this one she asked, "What is that? A desert?". I said that it was a mountain that had been dug into and she asked, "Who dug it? The teens?", ha!

Laura and Miche:

Those mountains off in the distance are our destination:

One of the classes with the teens:

The maned wolf. Being that it's the dry season, he went early to eat. That night two of them showed up which was ultra cool because it's not a frequent occurrence. Sadly, I don't have any pics of both of them.

Going on another hike:

Now it's Laura's turn:
