Festa Junina

Festa Junina is my favorite celebration of the year ... after Christmas. And Easter. Alina's school held one on Saturday and we had loads of fun. Aside from all the delicious typical foods that were served, what was special about this one was that it was the first time Alina danced the traditional "quadrilha" dance along with her classmates. God knows why the teachers paired her up with a short fellow, but it ended up being pretty funny.

All ready in her Festa Junina outfit:

Laurabee as well:

She wanted me to take a picture of her doll which, coincidently, had a dress with a pattern similar to her own:

Sisters:

By the kite Alina and a couple of her classmates decorated for the party (she drew, colored, and cut out all the pairs of people):

Popcorn:

With Grandma and auntie Ana:

The three piggies:

With her dance partner, João:

Her group (she's at the back of the line):

After filming the whole dance (15 minutes), the battery of my camera died so I wasn't able to take pictures of the rest of the party, the goodies, and the beautifully decorated school grounds ... sigh.

Here's a clip of the last minute and a half of the dance:
